looking for help with your website?
frequently asked questions.
Why is site maintenance important?
Site maintenance is vital to ensuring that everything runs as expected, ensuring a smooth and reliable user experience on the front-end. A website that isn’t maintained has been proven to deter consumers and reduce confidence in the brand, alongside being vulnerable to hackers and other security loopholes. This is extremely important for eCommerce sites that process customer data and financial info.
Modern search engines algorithms additionally encourage website updates, which benefit SEO and content development strategies, adding another layer to site maintenance requirements.
Who will maintain my website?
If you are on a professional or custom plan, your dedicated account manager will be your primary contact in maintaining, reviewing and editing your site content as you see fit alongside making recommendations. Essential plans will benefit from a ticketing system to process site edits and updates as requested. See plan inclusions in our pricing above for a site maintenance plan that suits you best.
Do you only maintain Wordpress sites?
Yes. We actively monitor and maintain websites built on the Wordpress and Woocommerce platform. This is because we have worked with Wordpress and Woocommerce for over 10+ years and understand how the system works across a variety of themes and building tools.
Will you maintain my hosting & DNS?
Our website maintenance plans only include Hosting & DNS maintenance at the custom plan level, however we’re happy to have a chat and see how we can help. Majority of the time DNS updates are quite simple and don’t take long to action. Contact our team and we’ll guide you in the right direction.
Is SEO a part of site maintenance?
SEO is an important part of your marketing strategy that closely ties in with your website maintenance and development plans, more-so from a technical perspective. Our Professional & Custom plans include access to a web developer who can help implement technical SEO changes on site if you are not comfortable doing it yourself.
If you are looking for local SEO agency services we offer these as a part of our marketing service offerings.
How long does maintenance take?
Depending on the size of your site it can take anywhere from 2-3 hours to maintain a website properly. This includes all backups, security and health checks and core updates. When any core, plugin and theme updates are available the process can take slightly longer, as we can additionally backup your site first and deploy to our test server to ensure the latest version of the plugins are compatible. Once everything checks out we’ll roll-out the updates to the live environment.
Other updates also rely on the nature of the edits requested, such as blog content and page updates, however there are times when site capabilities require more in-depth conversation with business owners to implement changes. (new features, plugins etc)
